In the last few decades, the use of environmental friendly insecticides, particularly plant-based compounds, has attracted attention of many researchers. The objective of the present work was to evaluate the fumigant toxicity of the essential oils extracted from the aromatic species, Zataria multiflora and Lavandula angustifolia on the cowpea weevil, C. maculatus. The essential oils from Z. multiflora and L. angustifolia were extracted using a Clevenger apparatus. Bioassays were conducted on both sexes of one-2 day old C. maculatus adults within the enclosed 27 ml glass vials under 29±1ºC, 60±5% RH and dark condition. Differences in toxicities between essential oils were made by comparing the estimates of LC50s, LC90s and probit mortality-concentration regression lines provided by POLO-PC computer software. The toxicities of both materials were significantly and positively associated with concentration and exposure time. The males were more sensitive than females. The insects of both sexes were 9-10 times more tolerant to the extract from Z. multiflora comparing to that from L. angustifolia. The 24h LC50 values of Z. multiflora oil were 329 and 562 µlL-1 and the counterpart values of L. angustifolia oil were 34 and 54 µlL-1 for males and females, respectively. The results showed the essential oils from L. angustifolia can be a good candidate for more and practical assays. (Coleoptera: Bruchidae)}, abstract_fa = {چکیده سوسک چهار نقطه ای حبوبات Callosobruchus maculatus یکی از آفات کلیدی حبوبات در انبار است که به حبوبات مختلف مانند لوبیا چشم بلبلی، نخود، عدس، ماش و باقلا خسارت وارد می کند. جهت کنترل جمعیت این آفت، در چند دهه اخیر حشره کشهای سازگار با محیط زیست بویژه ترکیبات با منشا گیاهی بسیار مورد توجه محققین قرار گرفته است. هدف از این تحقیق، بررسی میزان سمیت تنفسی اسانس گیاهان آویشن-شیرازی (Zataria multiflora) و اسطوخودوس (Lavandula angustifolia) بر سوسک چهار نقطه ای حبوبات است. اسانس آویشن شیرازی و اسطوخودوس توسط دستگاه کلونجر استخراج شد. آزمایشات زیست سنجی اسانس ها بر حشرات کامل 1 تا 2 روزه نر و ماده سوسک چهار نقطه ای حبوبات در شرایط دمایی °C 1±29، رطوبت نسبی 5±60% و تاریکی در ظروف شیشه ای درپوش دار به حجم 27 میلی لیتر انجام شد. با تعیین شاخص‌های LC50، LC90 و معادلات پروبیت مرگ و میر-غلظت توسط نرم افزار POLO - PC، سمیت تنفسی اسانس ها مقایسه و ارزیابی شد. سمیت تنفسی اسانس ها با غلظت اسانس و مدت زمان اسانس دهی همبستگی مثبت و معنی دار داشت (Pvalue< 0.05). حشرات نر در مقایسه با افراد ماده نسبت به اسانس ها حساسیت بیشتری داشتند. حشرات نر و ماده به اسانس آویشن شیرازی در مقایسه با اسانس اسطوخودوس حدود 10-9 برابر مقاوم تر بودند. مقادیرLC50 برای اسانس آویشن شیرازی معادل 329 وµl.L-1 562 و برای اسانس اسطوخودوس معادل 34 و µl.L-1 54 به ترتیب علیه افراد نر و ماده محاسبه گردید. نتایج این بررسی نشان داد که اسانس دو گیاه مورد بررسی اثرات حشره کشی مناسبی بر سوسک چهار نقطه ای حبوبات داشتند، لذا تحقیقات بیشتر به منظور کاربرد آنها علیه این آفت جهت حفاظت محصولات انباری توصیه می شود. واژه های کلیدی: اسانس گیاهی، سمیت تنفسی، آویشن شیرازی، اسطوخودوس، آفات انباری، لوبیا چشم بلبلی}, keywords_fa = {}, url = {https://jpp.um.ac.ir/article_31222.html}, eprint = {https://jpp.um.ac.ir/article_31222_16d62125c0400c55f188358074a52ed9.pdf} }
